Quality, Testing and Approvals
Forging ingot quality is set in the melt shop. Kesari Alloys controls chemistry, gas content and cleanliness before the steel is poured, and tests it afterwards.

Approvals and certifications
Kesari Alloys is an IBR approved forging ingot manufacturer, with PED 2014/68/EU and AD 2000 Merkblatt approvals alongside ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.
| ISO 9001 | Quality management |
|---|---|
| ISO 14001 | Environmental management |
| ISO 45001 | Occupational health and safety |
| PED 2014/68/EU | European Pressure Equipment Directive |
| IBR | Indian Boiler Regulations approval |
| AD 2000 Merkblatt | German pressure vessel code, material requirements |

Melting and refining
- Electric melting furnaces
- Ladle refining furnace for temperature, chemistry and sulphur control
- Vacuum degassing system reaching 0.25 mbar in under five minutes
- Closed (bottom) pouring, so liquid steel is not exposed to the atmosphere
See why vacuum degassing matters for heavy forgings.
Testing
- Optical emission spectrometer for chemical analysis
- Simultaneous oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen analyser
- PMI mobile spectrometer for grade verification
- Radioactive contamination testing facility
Heat treatment
An electric car-bottom heat treatment furnace, 6.5 m long and rated to 1150 °C with temperature control, is available for supply conditions that need it.
