Alloy Steel Forging Ingots

Alloy steel forging ingots add chromium, molybdenum, nickel and other elements for strength, hardenability and toughness. Kesari Alloys is an alloy steel forging ingot manufacturer and alloy steel ingot supplier India for heavy forgings.

Alloy steel ingot families

Chromium molybdenum steel ingots (25CrMo4, 42CrMo4, SAE 4130, 4140, 4142, EN19) are the workhorse for shafts, oil field parts and fasteners. Nickel chromium molybdenum steel ingots (SAE 4340, EN24, SAE 8620, EN353) add toughness and deep hardening for heavy shafts and gears.

Case hardening steel ingots (16MnCr5, 20MnCr5, SAE 8620, SCM420) are cast low in carbon and carburised after forging, for large gear blanks and pinions.

Alloy steel ingot sizes and shapes

Kesari Alloys supplies forging ingots in square, fluted and round shapes from M1.5 (about 1.45 tonne) to M22 (about 23.5 tonne with hot top), vacuum degassed, ladle refined and bottom poured.

See the forging ingot size chart for dimensions and weights.
